Just doing stuff around the house

Well it's just been me for a couple days now, I got to talk to Dahm for a good chunk of time today though. They decided they wanted to come back, but then changed their minds again. So that's a bummer but like I told him, it was nice to just to get to talk to him.

It's basically been pretty boring here otherwise, but I have been doing a little around the house. Since we recently got kitchen appliances, we've had a lot less space. So I've been forced to reorganize my entire kitchen to fit everything inside so I don't go insane. "Why don't you just leave the blender on the counter?" says an unsuspecting Dahmahnic. "Because we don't live in a mansion dear, and if I kept it on the counter, I wouldn't have any space to roll pizza." :P silly, silly man. So everything has played musical chairs. Especially the pantry. I have crappy wire shelving in my house and it's especially annoying inside my pantry because on occasion things just get chucked inside and if they're small enough they just fall down to the ground. The most annoying thing was when my baggie of rice was opened and a bunch of it fell down from the top shelf all over the floor and it was annoying to clean out. So I rigged up a shelf cover so that nothing happens like that for awhile and bought some baskets to keep everything together and tidy. I was going to make it patterned with vinyl contact paper, but I'm not sure if I want it on the shelves or on the back of the wall. I used another patterned contact paper to cover the banister and it looks kinda cool! Sometimes the house feels a little small, and that's the sign that I need to organize stuff! LOL. 

But currently, I am just chilling on the couch watching Hitch with Cocoa sleeping in a pile of cozy, furry blanket and her baby. I also found a yummy smelling candle that smells like cotton candy hahaha it's very happy for me.

I also forgot to show you the painting I did for the music room. I also found a super cool LED sign for it too!

And, I also had a post I wrote up on my phone that accidentally got deleted so I'm burned out about that particular subject for the time being. UGH. that is really annoying too.

I really love my kindle

When it was lost I was so worried I'd have to buy a new one! I imagined it all broken and sad - because if it had been lost outside (doubtful because it rarely leaves the house (three times in it's life here)) then someone surely would've used it to buy stuff off Amazon if it hadn't been broken. I really adore it - it's such an awesome present and it was super lame using my phone to read (which hurts my eyes a bit at night) when it was missing. I know they're making the kindle tablets more affordable now, but I really love the one I have and we have a loving relationship haha. Amazon gave me a free month of kindle unlimited and Prime so I'm trying to take advantage of it and read a bunch of free books LOL :)

Kindle!

Dahm found my kindle! For some reason, it was inside his side table! No idea why! It could've fallen into a drawer, but I would've never thought to look there because I never look in there. Really glad he did though! :)

Feeling frustrated!

I keep losing things! It's really sucky and I don't like not being able to find my stuff in such a small house! For a few weeks I couldn't find my phone case and now I can't find my kindle! I'm thinking it's not stolen because there haven't been any strange purchases from my account, but I can't find it anywhere!
The last time I remember seeing it was when I was cleaning up for friends coming over. I think I might have put it somewhere "weird" so it would be safe, but I can't find it at all now! It's been a couple weeks and I'm so aggravated! Did I tell you I found my old military id behind a picture in my spare room? Ridiculous. And i really want to use my kindle and I'm stuck with my phone for the most part! :( it's not with all the other electronics or with dahms tablet from dad! I just can't even figure out where it'd be!!!! Grrr :(

Nothing fun to report

After one day of rice being 2/3 of Ricky's diet, he stopped having diarrhea so that has helped me out as far as getting more sleep. And Dahm made a huge fuss about it because he was a turd, geez like I haven't already spent hours researching how to help him when it happened last time. UGH. haha.
Yesterday we went to bellows beach with Nikki and Matt and we went kayaking and stuff and it was pretty fun. Today Dahm has duty so that's pretty lame, just considering. I'll have to tell you more later :p Hopefully he gets off work early tomorrow.

Shaking my head....

Talk about a doozy of a week. It has been very hard to say the least. All I want is sleep, and it's the only thing I'm NOT getting.

Ok.
I gots to tell you something freaky.
When I was cleaning out Ricky's kennel from this morning's debacle, I thought I heard someone moving around outside, which would be odd at 5 A.M. I wasn't too awful worried (partially because I was cleaning up diarrhea and partially because I had my dog and a husband with a gun not far away). I gave Ricky the command to danger bark at ANY noise, but he looked a little confused after awhile and I pushed it aside thinking I was being paranoid. Still, I hurried up and finished cleaning, locked my doors and went back to bed.
Just now someone posted on the neighborhood Facebook page that someone tried to break into their backyard and their dogs scared away the intruder that was gouging holes in the fence trying to get in. And another just said they saw someone creepy hanging around their street!
Glad I have someone watching out for me!

The thing it didn't tell you about the end of the story was that the chimp offered her adopted baby to her caretaker, and she had to tell Washoe thank you, but you need to take care of it haha

It NEVER stops.

Sigh. Yes, I love cleaning out dog diarrhea after getting only three and a half hours sleep, before which I was exhausted to the bone. BEST ACTIVITY EVER. Especially cause I got to bathe the poor dog out in the cold too, because he was in his kennel tonight. Even better because I had asked him to go poop before I went to bed and he refused. I wish he would just bark! I'd come a running if he would just BARK.

And how does my sleeping husband greet me when I climb back into bed?
He farts.

Mongoose

I tried to take a photo of a mongoose for you, but the bugger didn't want to hold still

It has been consistently alright.

Although consistency is boring and often very nice, it doesn't give me much to talk about.
Here we go!
We went and shot skeet on Saturday and it was really nice being able to use the gun after so long - I was afraid I was forgetting how to use it! We shot two games and then we went out to eat and then came back and shot two more. We googled restaurants nearby (the range is on the eastern side of the island so we really haven't gone there very often). Turns out a greek restaurant that'd I had heard was fantastic the same day on facebook was only five minutes away!!! AND IT WAS THE BEST GREEK I'VE EVER HAD!! The gyro meat was PERFECT and practically melted in my mouth (I got a gyro salad, which I THOUGHT I'd tried before... not nearly as good as this one was) and then I got some mochi ice cream from the ice cream store nearby - which turns out it was the best one on the island! SUPER lucky. Mochi ice cream, by the way, is a small ball of ice cream wrapped in sweet rice flour dough and then re-frozen. I like it a lot, but Dahm isn't a huge fan because he doesn't really do a lot of ice cream or frosting type stuff. So that was the fun thing we did.
Our tax return came on the 29th, I don't remember when we filed our taxes, but they came back really quickly and we were pretty stoked. Most of it is getting saved, but we're getting a little something for each of us too.
And I picked my friend up from the airport today.
That's literally it. I've done nothing else worthwhile lol. Wait there was one thing.
My friend Nikki was hanging out with me and across the street all of the sudden there were cop cars! So we spied on them a little haha and a total five cop cars went over there, housing security showed up, and then like ten minutes later a fire truck parked in front of my house and an ambulance came by a few minutes afterwards. There was an officer taking photos of a house further down, but no one left with the ambulance and eventually they all left. I still have no clue what went down. It involved two houses, and they took statements from people in the one closest to me. WEIIIIIIRD.
Other than that, THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING GOOD GOING ON >.>
